I just finished this cute little book. Arriman the wizard decides it is time to marry so he can have a dark magic son to uphold his high reputation and take over his work for him. He holds a contest to see which witch can do the darkest magic and has claimed to marry her-- even if she has hair growing out of the warts on her face. The whole time I am reading this book, I am hoping that beautiful Belladonna can change from a white witch to dark so she can win Arriman's love.
After this fun children's book I am going to check out the author Eva Ibbotson's other books, like The Secret of Platform 13.
